SOLIDWORKS → AUTODESK INVENTOR

Switch CAD. Keep Your Engineering.

CADMigrate rebuilds your SOLIDWORKS parts as native, editable Inventor models with feature history included and geometry verified.

01 / THE PROBLEM

A STEP file transfers the shape.
Not the model behind it.

Traditional CAD conversion often leaves you with a dumb solid: no editable feature history, no design logic and no practical way to continue engineering. The next design change becomes a remodelling challenge.

Typical migration

Imported solid

  • × No editable feature history
  • × Dimensions, constraints and design logic are lost
  • × Changes require manual reconstruction

WHY CADMIGRATE

We built the migration tool
we could not find.

We first encountered this problem while moving our own engineering data from SOLIDWORKS to Autodesk Inventor.

The tools we tested either stopped at imported solids or produced feature histories that were too unreliable for continued engineering. So we built a process around the standard we needed ourselves: editable native parts, predictable results and evidence that the migrated model still matches the source.

02 / HOW IT WORKS

Every migrated model
has a traceable path.

CADMigrate separates reading the source model from rebuilding and validating the Inventor part. The process is repeatable, reviewable and suitable for larger CAD archives.

01

Read

We extract the geometry, sketches, dimensions, constraints, parameters and feature order directly from the SOLIDWORKS part.

02

Rebuild

Each supported design feature is recreated using native Autodesk Inventor operations.

03

Validate

We compare the source and target geometry, check the reconstructed feature history and test selected parameter changes.

03 / SOURCE → NATIVE RESULT

Same engineering.
Native in Inventor.

Real source models and real migration outputs—not renders. Compare both CAD systems side by side, then open any image to inspect the native model tree at full resolution.

YOUR DATA, YOUR PROOF

See the result on a part your engineers already know.

A representative file tells us more than a generic demo. We will assess its feature structure and propose a measurable pilot.

04 / VALIDATION

Quality is not a visual judgement.
It is a measured result.

A migration is accepted only after it passes a defined set of technical checks. If the match cannot be demonstrated, the part is flagged for review instead of being silently marked as complete.

05 / SCOPE

Start with the parts that
deliver the most value.

CADMigrate currently focuses on the native migration of parametric SOLIDWORKS parts to Autodesk Inventor.

Part files

Single-body parametric parts built with standard sketches and mechanical features.

Feature history

Supported extrusions, cuts, holes, fillets, patterns, mirrors and other qualified features are rebuilt as native Inventor operations.

Technical audit

A structured validation report records the results and clearly identifies any remaining differences.

PILOT MIGRATION

Prove it on your own CAD data first.

We select a representative sample of your parts, migrate it and measure the success rate. The results allow us to define the scope, effort and risk of migrating the full archive.

Plan a pilot migration

Transparency: Assemblies, drawings and multibody parts are not currently included in the production-qualified scope.

06 / NEXT STEP

Send us one
representative part.

We will review its feature structure, confirm whether it is suitable for native migration and recommend the scope of a pilot project.
